Going Gaga for Baba – New Jewelery Collection From Catherine Baba

We have got all flustered at Stylesight Accessories HQ over the news that one our favorite style muses, stylist Catherine Baba has launched a jewelery collection in collaboration with Maison Gripoix.

The partnership of the jewelry house synonymous with Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Schiaparelli and the opulently vintage clothed French stylist is a perfect match, and has resulted in 12 pieces reflecting Baba’s characteristic style. Referencing her own lavish collection of vintage accessories, the collection incorporates rich absinthe, lapis and blood red poured glass, attributed to the French house of Gripoix, in a number of romantic flourishes. Peacocks and dragons inspire embellishments complete with gold tassels and constructions from a more decadent time.

The Pheonix belt, Geisha chainmail necklace-cum-lipstick holder and Vanity ring, that also opens up to reveal a miniature compact are stand out pieces from the range that is as much about function as it is beauty, which was a key consideration for Baba when designing each piece.

The collection is available now from Maison Gripoix.

I need these designs in my short film. I am trying to produce short films that showcase wonderful fashion that can be seen throughout history. I am also interested in writing scripts that empower women by placing strong female roles in my films. I am sure my budget is a little to small to afford Baba’s wonderful designs, but I will do my best on my sewing machine to match this awesome dress. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I will have to work with my local Tampa FL Jewelry stores to see if they could provide prop jewelry like the one shown one this post. I can’t wait to start! Thanks again.

  2. Beautiful jewellery. I admire Catherine Baba concepts. She is inspiring.
