EDITOR-IN-CHIEF ECLECTIC
New York: Fresh off the heels of a snagging the elusive CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund first place prize, Joseph Altuzarra delivered what may be his most comprehensive collection to date. Altuzarra shot to fame after former French Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Carine Roitfeld was photographed wearing his Fall 09 mink-trimmed white coat during Paris Fashion Week. It is therefore no coincidence that many discernable elements of Roitfeld’s aesthetic continued to find showcase in his most recent collection. Her sleek pencil skirts (evil slits included), aggressively whittled jackets, and over-the-knee stiletto boots were complemented by luxe-hippie flourishes (colorful peasant skirts, printed/flare-leg trousers, coin-strung belts) that added soul to the severity…Morocco via Le Marais. –Kibwe Chase-Marshall
