When in Rome, do as the Romans do and head to the newly opened Kook, a serious stunner of a restaurant. This airy yet welcoming space was designed by two-man architecture firm Noses, who chose to complement the Mediterranean menu with the ultimate symbol of longevity, the olive tree. The focal point of the room is a truly gnarly specimen encased in glass, and it’s the kookiest part of the decor, adding a touch of nature-inspired whimsy to an otherwise stark design scheme. Kook is located about a half an hour’s drive outside of the city center, but don’t let that stop you: their pizza alone is worth the trek. xx Ashley Churchill
