Presented by Swarovski at the Hôtel de Ville is Paris Haute Couture, the latest exhibition showcasing the grand history of couture. Some 100 dresses are on loan from the Musée Galliera, as well as from private collectors. Designs range from creations by the “Father of Haute Couture,” Charles Frederick Worth, through to modern-day renditions from Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy and Maison Martin Margiela. Other designers featured include Jeanne Lanvin, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Coco Chanel, Thierry Mugler, all of which are displayed alongside exquisite drawings and photographs. The garments showcased are reason enough to attend, but with free admission (a rarity in Paris) this exhibit is a definite can’t miss. -Sarah Ryan Hecht
