The Lowe Down

WWD reported yesterday that eighteen year old model/London party fixture Daisy Lowe is teaming up with her lace dress designing mama, former model/London party fixture/singer Pearl Lowe, to release a line of clothing in the same vintage-y vein, but with “more playful” (gag me) pieces. I can’t help but like that Daisy Lowe, if only because she sometimes dresses like a crazy person and isn’t a size zero, so news of clothing “designed” by her was surprisingly thrilling. But now I’m even more thrilled, having learned of her ridiculously interesting rock ‘n roll life! In 2004 Ma. Daisy learned through a DNA test that former rocker/heart throb Gavin Rossdale (Mr. Stefani) was her biological father. (Thankfully, this news wasn’t mine. My teenage years would have seemed quite creepy in retrospect.) She barely speaks to the 41 year old househusband, and refuses to acknowledge his lovely wife (who happens to be Gwen Stefani) as her step-mother. Pearl Lowe, her mom is the long-time partner of Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey, whom Ms. Daisy regards as her dad. The mind boggles with hot gossip! My jealousy at such lineage knows no bounds! Oh, and I can’t wait to see her new line when it makes its debut sometime between “the fall and next spring.” Right. That’s what I care about here, the clothes. Yes.
