Roisin For Halloween

Hey – I’ve been doing Stylesightings for a little over a year now and October 2008 has been our best month ever in terms of the number of visitors to the site. Yay! To celebrate tonight, I’m kicking around the house (actually it’s a studio apartment but don’t tell anyone) and getting ready to head out to a couple of Halloween parties. I’m banging some new Lady Gaga tracks and this lady you see here who is my current music fave as well as my style icon of the moment – Roisin. I’m obsessed with the video above which is her busking with her band in Covent Garden, London. I can’t imagine being talented enough to just bust it out live and nearly a cappella like this – amazing! Also, I love the sly look on her face and her red coat and the little movements she does with her hands and arms and her backing vocalists look authentically retro not like some fake ass Mark Ronson shite and I told you I was obsessed. It’s prolly my favorite track on her record, although I seem to have a different favorite every week because it’s a great album.     My goodness, the live video is so amazing I’m going to re-post it on my blog, haha. There seems to be a lot of hype around Roisin lately and I love it. She deserves the attention and the acclaim. I’ve been a fan of her entire career, from her days as the Moloko frontwoman to the release of both of her solo albums.

    I had the opportunity of seeing her live during CMJ week and my goodness, she’s definitely one of the top three shows I’ve ever been to.

    ive got scarlet ribbons playing even as i type this.
    i read a few posts back that you also attended her show at mansion on the 24th!
    cant believe how fast its gone – what an amazingamazing show, no?
    i was front row center & got to touch her hand twice. & she sang to me.

    dont even get me started on her as a fashion icon. shes simply perfect. i dont think anyone [not even the model in the show] pulled off that gareth pugh dress as well as she did (!)

    i adore her.

    Hey, I am a Chinese. I’ve never seen before in China, like her in the street so a cappella singer … … amazing! Very cool! She is a star it? ? I love her voice! Very charming! ! ! ! A cappella is also good to hear ~ ~ really too fond of her voice; she was very pretty, especially in that red jacket, I like it! ! A magic woman! Thank you, Eddie
