Mystery Muses of Montauk

img_8686asI feel so inspired and excited after visiting Montauk over the weekend. The sense of place out there is quite strong – old motels and vintage restaurants, cedar-shingled bungalows with Adirondack chairs scattered in the yard, massive oceanfront bluffs, wild beaches with huge boulders in the water. The weather over the weekend was a mixture of gorgeous sun and a chilly, foggy mist. I actually love beach fashion when the weather is a mix of warm days and slightly chilly days or evenings…the perfect opportunity to try all of those slouchy-but-chic looks that stylists love to send down the runway but that often don’t work when it’s blazing hot or freezing cold out – as NYC often is. Thin cardigans, the perfect white t-shirt, frayed khakis rolled up casually and paired with heels or sandals. Montauk was foggy, yes…but with a perfectly clear sense of place and self. xo eddie
