One of the things I love about major European cities is how, on the weekend, EVERYONE heads out to
street markets. I mean, this is done a bit in U.S. cities like New York and Los Angeles, but it’s not the same. In cities like
London, Paris, and Vienna you can buy everything from live birds, to great vintage vinyl, a dress or t-shirt from a young designer, and all sorts of amazing food. If the weather is nice, as it was in London over the weekend, a large part of the reason for hitting the markets is just to hang out, to eat and drink and see friends. It’s just what you do on the weekend – you don’t really question it. There’s also often great people watching. Yesterday in London, I had a butchers around the
Spitalfields and
Brick Lane Sunday markets – check out the cool kids who I saw along the way. x Eddie
