Hey there – it’s Eddie here. I stopped by LAX briefly yesterday and took a little 15 hour flight – more about that soon. I really love southern California though. Los Angeles and the surrounding area are like a case study for the ways in which environment affects mood. It really is like an endless summer out there and you find yourself wanting to do everything outdoors. Due largely to the constant sunshine, L.A. fashion has a reputation for being super casual…and it is…to a point. In my experience though, many Angelenos have an almost hardcore approach to casual style. It’s not, “Oh well, it’s warm today so I’ll just throw on this old t-shirt and some flip-flops”…it’s more like, “These might just be denim shorts but they’re the most amazing Egyptian cotton, Japanese vintage-loomed, hand-distressed denim shorts anyone has ever seen.” Show me a table of great vintage cowboy boots at the Rose Bowl flea market and I’ll show you some Angelenos with the same lustful look in their eyes as a Parisian fashion editor would have when she’s eyeing a $5,000 Ric Owens jacket. They’re really serious about being really casual. All of which is a roundabout way of saying…before we move on to something else, here’s a load of photos I shot at the Coachella festival…check out all the cute spring and summer looks…seriously! xx

So true, California style is more relaxed. The other day, a girl in my class said that one of her friends studying in New York found it difficult to have to dress up everyday, not being able to walk out in just a t-shirt and jeans anymore.
Though I don’t often see people in neon-colored bandeaus and extremely ripped, butt-exposing shorts. :b great pics, come back to SoCal soon!
