New York: Todd Snyder’s much lauded F/W 12 debut collection consisted of military basics remade in trim cuts and quality materials, and this, his second collection felt like a sequel for S/S 13. Snyder claimed his influences for this show were simply military and prep school classics, and a show shot through with staples like cargo pants, trench coats, field jackets, and khaki ties confirmed this. A midnight blue tuxedo with dramatically peaked lapels in contrasting black stood out among other more mundane items that confirmed Snyder as a solid designer who delivers high quality standards that don’t stand out. —Andrew Luecke
