New York: For F/W 12, Tim Hamilton sought to highlight his self-admitted connection to New York subculture with a moody showing full of street-smart basics. Even though the tough but polished collection was comprised of the designer’s signature knits and moto jackets, it was his first attempt at tailored jackets and pants that really impressed. With an considered balance of soft fabrics and sharp silhouettes, the collection’s structure showed a strong evolution in Hamilton’s design aesthetic. —Michael Fisher
