COLOR THEORY
Milan: Massimiliano Giornetti looked to the laid-back yet energetic culture of Los Angeles this season. Citing sports and pop music as inspirations, the creative director presented a collection of casual separates in a rainbow of bold, beachy hues that Giornetti referred to as “vitamins” — perhaps a nod to the ubiquitous West Coast health nut. The saturated palette played a starring role, and layered ensembles created color-blocked compositions. An interruption of patterns — floral and micro motifs — added even more vibrance, and looked especially nice peeking out from frothy, sheer sweaters. In keeping with the active theme, retro-style sneakers grounded every look — a most directional move for a label known for its classic leather footwear. —Anna Jane Davis
