Paris…RM Roland Mouret
Previously showing in New York with a collection under his namesake, Roland Mouret went back to his homeland of Paris last year and renamed it “RM Roland Mouret.” His F/W 09 “careerwear” collection expressed all of his strong points (tailoring and sleek dresses) with a new component, knitwear. Boat neck sweaters and ruffle-front cut-and-sew knits were worn with asymmetrical pencil skirts with slits in either the front or the back. Dresses in varying lengths represented his philosophy of one shape working as either a tunic, top or dress. These “TTDs,” worn with crocodile-embossed leggings in eroded metallics, looked appropriate for the office yet right for evening. Side-zipped jackets were sculpted with leaf appliqués on cropped and long versions. A pleat front menswear trouser was tapered at the ankle to expose black heals that stenciled the foot in gold trim.

Different from all the other collections where pops of color were present in some way.
