OPTIC OPTIMISM New York: Graphic contrasts in both color and print set the tone for Rachel Roy’s C/R 13 presentation. The palette began with brights, then ever-so-subtly muted a level or two. The resulting haze-brights were paired in Palm Beachy duos, and surrounded with geo-fractile prints for modern effect. Silhouettes were clean and mid-century inspired, evoking the uniform precision of airline flight attendants (or stewardesses, to be era-accurate). It was all wrapped up in feminine transitional outerwear; a laser-lace collarless balmacaan in a peppy shade of limoncello was the clear standout. —Kibwe Chase-Marshall
