REPTILE RENEWAL
London: After the glut of reptile prints on the market in recent seasons, it seemed like the cold-blooded trend was finished, but the in the hands of husband and wife team Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi for S/S 13, snakeskin and crocodile have been thoroughly revived. Turning back to a more sophisticated aesthetic, the designers spun a fantastically cool and refined collection comprised of patchworked lace, reptile and floral silk in a navy, plum and fuchsia palette. Slim camisole dresses and asymmetric pencil skirts were outlined with white piping to make the advanced construction pop, while boxy t-shirts and tapered trousers added a slouchy masculine element. Crisp and gorgeously juxtaposed, S/S 13 proved a triumphant return to the London show schedule for this innovative label.—Nina Stotler
