CHINA DOLL
London: Preen’s Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton are becoming known for innovative prints and fabric treatments, techniques which formed the cornerstone of their Pre-Fall collection. Centering on a gorgeous print inspired by a classic china pattern, the designers created serene silk dresses and cashmere turtlenecks emblazoned with an intricate repeat, then carried the china’s cobalt blue over to trome l’oeil cable knit tops and body conscious sheaths. Although cooler tones prevailed, saturated orange added a vibrant touch to lace dresses and a monochromatic patchwork layered beneath black graphics became a dimensional masterpiece.—Nina Stotler
