New York: John Patrick’s collection for Organic regularly trades in crisply casual separates, an aesthetic updated for S/S 13 with sweetly feminine details. For daytime, the designer pairs functional linen shorts and pants with sporty jackets crafted from recycled cotton and nylon, creating ersatz suiting in monochrome shades of oyster and taupe. Dresses and skirts are more delicate, featuring wide pleats, deep notch necklines and layered point d’esprit half-slips, while a number of artisanal guipure lace dresses seem destined for an informal wedding.—Nina Stotler
