JUNGLE BOOK
Paris: Perhaps Humberto Leon and Carol Lim’s recent jungle-themed show – their second Men’s collection for Kenzo – was a commentary on playing with the big cats at LVHM and competitors, or maybe it was simply the product of their latest playful fixation. Either way, there’s no doubt their minds were in the jungle. The duo showed a number of classic swashbuckling looks, as well as techy sportswear, all kitted out with the natural camouflage of tiger stripes and leopard spots. A safari jacket had pops of yellow tiger stripe, as did canvas kicks in royal blue or yellow. Blue and grey tie-dye offered a novel take on leopard print, while sporty windbreakers came in a pastel stipple print, perfectly paired with a matching camp cap. Leon and Lim were sure to include a dose of outré graphic content, including an Egyptian tiger graphic on a crewneck sweatshirt, and the aggressive show summation that simply read, “Roar”. —Andrew Luecke
