SUBDUED SEDUCTION
Milan: Relatively speaking, this was a demure collection for Just Cavalli. There were only a handful of short skirts and a couple obligatory body-con dresses. Most tops offered full coverage, many featuring collars or high necklines. Instead, skintight jeans, motorcycle jackets, leopard prints, and spike embellishments were charged with conveying the Cavalli brand of seduction. In addition to the leopard, the designer included a Baroque-inspired print. Hidden between the filigree were seashells and tritons that he claimed were inspired by one of the fish tanks in his opulent home. Overall, there was a new sense of maturity in this collection, and one hopes Cavalli can channel it in his personal life to end his unfortunate Twitter feud with Giorgio Armani.
