A NEW SOPHISTICATION
London: The sisters Felder are known for their youthful pieces and playful patterns, but this season, they explored a more grown-up look. They opened their collection with a precisely tailored double-breasted burgundy coat, signaling this new direction. Quilted leather pencil skirts, simple knit tops, and smart blazers were among the other sophisticated items on display. Citing the 1970s as an influence, the designers offered a sexy counterpoint, capturing disco decadence with gold PVC leggings, panne velvet separates, and patent leather mini skirts. They also presented their signature skater skirts, this time in ethereal organza printed with a moody motif inspired by the work of photographer Sarah Moon. The new sophisticated turn worked well for Felder Felder. The label’s followers are growing up after all, and they will surely appreciate the handful of office-appropriate pieces, in addition to the more seductive fare. –Joanna Manganaro
