EUROTRIP
New York: For F/W 12 Billy Reid infused his all-American sportswear with elements drawn from recent trips to London and Paris, making for a collection that was less down-home and more jet-set than usual. Reid’s line for women, which he launched in 2008, was more developed than ever before; it included sixteen strong looks and many substantial pieces that ranged from luxe giant-collared outerwear styles to finely tailored suits. Powerful silhouettes and accessories like floppy wide-brimmed hats felt 70s-inspired, as did a camel-heavy color palette that conjured YSL looks of the period. —Whitney Kessler
