Food For Thought at Hurwundeki with Stylesight and the Disappearing Dining Club

The snow outside wasn’t enough to discourage guests in joining us for our inaugural Influencer’s Dinner in collaboration with the Disappearing Dining Club at Hurwundeki in East London last night.

Hosted by Stylesight’s Director of Lifestyle and Culture Helen Job and Trend and Innovation consultant Philippa Wagner, a hand-picked selection of inspiring industry experts sat down with us to enjoy large, shared plates of delicious food and discuss the key ideas and trends that are shaping our future thinking.

Guests included Dana Gornitzki of MIEN Magazine, the founders of Something & Son and FARM:shop in Dalston, architecture collective The Decorators, Jack Gwilym Roberts from Future Human and synthetic biologist Daisy Ginsberg, to name but a handful – creative thinkers working across the realms of community design, architecture, synthetic biology, technology and augmented reality.

Over a four-course menu – inspired by the cities of New York, Paris and London – conversations explored the topics of storytelling, global versus local, scale and the meaning of time in a digital age, food for thought which will feed into our Consumer Macro Trends for 2014, available for subscribers at the beginning of April.

The evening was a great success and the first of many dinners.  We would like to give special thanks to Stuart Langley for collaborating with us and devising such a tasty menu, Hurwundeki for the venue, and the following guests for attending:

Andy Merrit and Paul Smyth – co-founders of Something & Son and FARM:shop, Jane Kellock – founder of The Women’s Room, Dana Gornitzki – Editor of MIEN Magazine, Carolina Caicedo and Xavi Llarch Font from The Decorators, Jack Gwilym Roberts from Future Human, artist and designer Daisy Ginsberg, Simon Bond from Physical Pixels, freelance technology journalist Danny Brogan, Isham Sardouk, Jane Boddy and Manish Sharma.
