Where there was destruction, art blooms. After the devastating earthquake that hit Watanoha, artist Tomo Inugai banded together with local elementary school children to create art from the debris. Using found objects from the wreckage, they worked together to create over 100 unique and quirky pieces in a project called Watanoha Smile. Gaining international attention, the children’s artwork was recently exhibited at the Zagarolo Toy Museum in Italy as an additional way to raise funds for the school.
