Sonia Rykiel’s bright, graphic collections have always had a louche Parisian charm and a strong reverence for the arts scene of the 1970s and 1980s. For the Resort season, the label stuck to those influences, adding a dash of of-the-moment “Japonisme” as filtered through the late fashion icon, Tina Chow.
Lacquered platform sandals in white, black and “Tina Chow Red” are a modern cross between the popular wooden clog and the geisha shoe. Plimsolls and boots are fashioned in rich satin with ribbon laces, and a ribbed effect on toecaps and heels reflects the oriental focus on simple shapes. Towering satin lace-ups with espadrille flatforms are standouts in champagne, black and jade, all with playful gold piping details.

i loved the clothing of this resort collection but i hadn’t seen the shoes until now. they’re AMAZING.
