Alexander Wang’s minimalist lines shined in his new S/S 13 collection.
For Spring, the NY-based designer proposes sleek single-sole sandals as base for geometric T-strap uppers. His touch of irreverence is manifested through supporting “garters” that emerge from the counter and buckle just below the knee.
A polished and semi-gloss surface adds to the minimal approach to Wang’s footwear selections, which appear in stark basics such as black, white and silver. Optical illusion plays a part in block heel constructions that become slim from a back view perspective.
A pointed-toe, gladiator-style boot complements the sandals from the runway, with leather front panels that lace through the back seam, a last slightly reminiscent from his S/S 12 collection. -Jenn Tello
