JW Anderson x Topshop S/S 13 Preview

JW Anderson continues his successful collaboration with British high-street retailer Topshop launching into S/S 13 with a denim heavy collection of structured and minimilast looks.

JW Anderson prepares for the launch of his second collaboration with Topshop with the release of his preview lookbook. The collection set to hit flagship stores across the U.K. and U.S. on February 15th features a more striped-down aesthetic than his debut line with the internationally renowned retailer. The diffusion line came about after the London-based designer was awarded the top prize by British Fashion Council’s NewGen sponsorship earlier last year. The prestigious award (underwritten by Topshop), also won by Simone Rocha, provides young design talent with money to stage a runway show during London Fashion Week as well as a collaboration opportunity with the brand.

The first (sell-out) high-street line of signature paisley, tarten and playful knit pieces became the uniform of choice for trendsetters at the S/S 13 London Fashion Week and the follow up line looks set to cause the same frenzy amongst the fashion community.

Jonathon explained on the range, “This collection was more about youth cultural groups. The girl has evolved. It’s about carrying over the idea of iconic pieces that can be worn over and over, and re-working staple looks from the JW Anderson wardrobe.”

Pieces include structured shift dresses, boxy bermuda shorts, and A-line dresses all in a grunge inspired matte black palette. Pinafore shapes, kilts and neat button-up shirts reach back to Anderson’s signature design aesthetic with anchor inspired logos, dodo birds, and cars providing print highlights.

The range will be stocked at Topshop Oxford Circus, Manchester Arndale, Selfridges, London Brompton Road, New York, L.A., Chicago, and on Topshop.com starting February 15.
