We saw the Hussein Chalayan x Mavi collection back in July at Bread and Butter Berlin, but all went quiet until recently, and now official images have been released of the collaboration.
Chalayan is a Paris Fashion Week staple; he has had exhibitions dedicated to him at the Design Museum in London and has a huge following of fans. For S/S 13 Turkish denim brand Mavi stole his design talents for their premium Gold Line collection.
The 20 piece range taps into Chalyan’s activewear handwriting: dark, high stretch performance denim teamed with ergonomic taping in fluro-orange and gun metal grey. Seams and details contour the body and sporty items such as tee’s, jegging fits, and short-shorts are used. Mesh also features in the collection to reinforce the activewear theme.
Prices are between €120 and €190 and the collection will be available at the end of January in selected Mavi shops and flagships.
