The Council of Fashion Designers of America President Diane von Furstenberg and CEO Steven Kolb announced the nominees for the 2013 CFDA awards yesterday, with an event hosted by von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski at the CFDA’s new digs at 65 Bleecker Street in New York. The awards will take place on June 3rd at Alice Tully Hall. Womenswear Designer of the Year has heavy hitters among the nominees, such as Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler. Menswear Designer of the Year choices include Steven Cox and Daniel Silver of Duckie Brown, Michael Bastian and Thom Browne. Up for accessories is Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim and the Proenza Schouler boys.
There are also Swarovski awards; nominees for the Swarovski Award for Womenswear include Stylesight favorites like Creatures of the Wind’s Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters, Cushnie et Ochs’ Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs, and Suno’s Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis. Swarovski Award for Menswear nominees are Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, Tim Coppens and Todd Snyder.
