Michelle Obama wears Thom Browne

Today is an exciting day for the USA; Obama is being inaugurated for his second term as president, and it also marks four more years of Michelle Obama and her always-stylish-yet-approachable outfits. The First Lady is starting off her second term in a Mod-inspired look by Thom Browne.  The New York designer created a collarless fit-and-flare coat in a rich navy grid pattern (inspired by a man’s silk tie). Browne also designed her dress, which the First Lady styled with a Reed Krakoff cardigan. Her sparkly belt and kitten heels are from J.Crew and her multi-strand pearl necklace is by Cathy Waterman. Michelle’s sleek new haircut featuring blunt bangs complements her ensemble’s subtle 60s feel. Fuchsia gloves provide a playful pop of color, coordinating perfectly with Malia’s striking magenta J.Crew coat and Sasha‘s lilac dress and matching coat from Kate Spade. The president himself looks as dapper as ever in his classic two-button navy suit and sky blue tie, drawing the whole First Family’s look together.
