Last November marked Kate Lanphear’s departure from Elle Magazine after a six year stint (four of them as Style Director). Over the past few months there has been much speculation about what her next endeavor would be; it was rumored that she might replace Deborah Needleman, who left WSJ in September to become Editor-in-Chief of T Magazine. As fashion journalist Jim Shi confirmed via Twitter: “Lanphear has joined T: The New York Times Style Magazine as style director. She’ll be at the upcoming women’s shows with Team T,” which was then re-tweeted by The New York Times itself. We can’t wait to see what the elegantly punkish Ms. Lanphear will bring to this beloved fashion publication.
