Queen Elizabeth has named Stella McCartney an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) on the New Year Honours List for 2013. This list is comprised of noted people who demonstrate success and service to their industry (Artist Tracey Emin and songstress Kate Bush were named Commanders of the Order of the British Empire this year). McCartney has designed season after season of beautiful clothing and is an industry favorite; her long-running collaboration with Adidas has been a true success, most recently for designing Team Great Britain’s 2012 Olympic uniforms (which we hear were a source of style-envy from the other country’s teams). The OBE continues McCartney’s winning streak for 2012 — it follows the British Fashion Awards where she won awards for both Designer Brand and Designer of the Year.
