Makeup Artist: Karim Rahman for L’Oreal Paris
“This make-up came to me when I was thinking about armour, about a warrior woman.” – Karim Rahman.
Arguably one of the most striking makeup looks created for the S/S 13 season, Rahman translated the tribal theme of Charlier’s collection into makeup-as-mask, both powerful and graphic yet beautiful. Using scotch tape to ensure clean lines, Rahman drew on bold strokes of red, black and blue makeup, heightening the intensity of the model’s gaze. White mascara on the lashes served as a counterpoint to the rest of the make-up.
